This looks like a really interesting topic. However, you will need to tie in another cultural region. Perhaps you could examine how the international community and/or aid helps/hinders the progress of Burundian refugees. Also, it will be helpful to narrow the timeframe.
Maybe broaden topic to include the war and its effects instead of just the refugees of the war.
